Wireless Access

How Do I Get Wireless Access

Wireless access is available throughout the building housing Carolina Law and the Kathrine R. Everett Law Library. Guest wireless access is available to visitors bringing their own laptop or device with 802.11 wireless (Wi-Fi) capability.

Students and faculty should use the secure UNC network (Onyen/password authentication required). This network permits access to ITS wireless printing and many online materials. Users must register and configure their wireless cards properly. See the step-by-step instructions. Once you are in an area that supports wireless access, you will be ready to get online. Law students and faculty having trouble connecting to the wireless network can contact the Law School IT department:

Other UNC-Chapel Hill students, faculty, and staff wishing to log on to the UNC network (Onyen/password authentication required) must register and configure their wireless cards properly. See the step-by-step instructions. Once you are in an area that supports wireless access, you will be ready to get online. UNC affiliates still having trouble connecting to the wireless network can contact ITS:

The Tar-Heel wireless SSID provides guest access network connectivity to those individuals without a UNC Onyen (authentication ID) and are using the University Libraries for research. See the Davis Library Wireless guide for step-by-step instructions in how to connect to the Tar-Heel network (no Onyen/password authentication required). Guests still having trouble connecting to the wireless network should visit the Circulation or Reference Desk in the Library for assistance.
