Reference

The staff at the Reference Desk help users locate information, use legal resources effectively, and answer questions about the collection. The staff does not provide substantive advice on legal problems, nor can they interpret legal materials. Reference assistance to persons outside the academic community is provided to the extent possible, but first priority necessarily goes to UNC law students and faculty.

When classes are in session reference assistance is generally available weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday, and until 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Saturdays the desk is staffed from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Hours change during intersessions and holidays; changes are posted on the Hours page and at the desk, or you may call the Reference Desk at 919-962-1194.
