SSRN is an increasingly important means of disseminating scholarship. Law faculty may request library assistance with posting or updating articles or book chapters on SSRN’s Legal Scholarship Network by contacting Donna Nixon (dnixon@email.unc.edu). Donna will work with you and your faculty support person to post the work.

We will need the following:

  • A PDF which you have rights to post to SSRN (we can help with PDF conversion, if needed)
  • An abstract for the work
  • A note with the following information:
    • Request that Donna post to LSN on your behalf
    • This statement: “I confirm that I have the copyright authority or permission to post this document to SSRN, and that posting does not violate other parties' copyright or other proprietary rights.”
  • Any additional information (optional): names of other authors, keywords, names of LSN journals to which you want the work posted, other information.

If you want to post papers yourself, this short 8 1/2 minute video tutorial should help.

Also, Donna can help you:

  • Set up your affiliation with and subscription to UNC Law’s ejournal in SSRN
  • Set up customized SSRN emails alerting you to new scholarship in your area

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Donna Nixon at dnixon@email.unc.edu or by phone at 919-843-9280.
