Visiting Researchers & Scholars

The Law Library welcomes the opportunity to serve visiting scholars by offering the following services:

  • Use of the Library and its collections during operating hours. Please note special hours during holidays and school breaks.
  • Borrowing privileges: Law school visiting scholars and researchers may use their UNC OneCard to borrow materials from the Law Library and from other libraries on campus. Visiting scholars have the same borrowing privileges as law students.
  • Dedicated carrels: The Library has several study carrels (desks with shelves, electric outlets, and lights) for visiting scholars to use as work areas during their visits. You should be assigned a carrel when you arrive. If you haven't been or have forgotten your carrel assignment, please contact Donna Nixon, Assistant Director for Public Services at dnixon@email.unc.edu or 919-962-1605.
